June begins in Gdynia with the participation of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra during the Gdynia Classica Nova festival. Later, the Orchestra will play at its headquarters on Ołowianka Island in a less frequently performed film repertoire and a special concert at the end of the 2023/2024 artistic season. The culmination of the month is the inauguration of the Gdańsk Music Summer in Oliwa. We invite you!

1/06, 19:00 – Gdynia Classica Nova – Church of St. Andrzej Bobola in Gdynia 

For many years PFB Orchestra participates in the Gdynia Classica Nova festival. Concert under the slogan: Masterpieces of the 20th century - Górecki's Symphony of Sorrowful Songs will present the Symphony No. 36, Op. XNUMX by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, as well as Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen for soprano and orchestra by Gustav Mahler and Adagietto from Paradise Lost (version for English horn and string orchestra) by Krzysztof Penderecki. He will conduct the PFB orchestra Łukasz Borowicz. He will sing Izabela Matuła (soprano). The solo part on the English horn will be performed by the oboist PFB Anita Milewska.

2/06, 12:00 – Family concert – The sun on the staff – PFB building in Ołowianka

On the occasion of Children's Day, we invite you to the last family concert this year. It's a magical concert full of surprises. You will receive a musical gift from Chopin About the ham lady, from Mozart About a piece of cake i There were three hens, from Moniuszko About a cat and a dog. In addition to percussion instruments, there will also be a huge tuba and a piccolo flute. They will perform: Magdalena Skorupska (singing), Karol Lendzion (singing), Jakub Laskowski (tube), Dorota Kowalska (flet), Aleksandra Bieg-Piaseczna (piano), Bartłomiej Sutt (percussion instruments) i Perełki dance group.

3-4, 9:15 and 11:30 – Educational concert – Mr. Kleks' Holiday Academy – PFB building in Ołowianka 

Na Mr. Kleks Academy subsequent generations of Poles were raised. At the Polish Baltic Philharmonic, artists led by Philharmonic violinists Natalia Walewska i Anna Bona recall popular songs from a series of films about the adventures of Mr. Kleks. An eccentric professor invites all children to play together at the Academy, regardless of the alphabet hierarchy. Graduates of this prestigious educational institution will learn the principles of good taste and upbringing, discover unknown lands and experience adventures they have never even dreamed of before. Actors will sing Aleksandra Lis i Bogdan Smagacki.

7/06, 19:00 – Film music concert – Zapach kobiety – PFB building in Ołowianka 

The Gdańsk Philharmonic band rarely plays light film repertoire, and that's what it will be like on June 7 during a concert of cult films that we remember for their beautiful, catchy music. They will sound, among others: music themes from movies: Cinema Paradiso, Zorba the Greek, The Mission, Amelia, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mission: Impossible, Schindler's List, By Fire and Sword or mentioned The scent of a woman. PFB Orchestra will be led by an outstanding violinist and conductor Robert Kabara. The soloist is the concertmaster of the PFB, a violinist Natalia Walewska.

14/06, 19:00 – End of the artistic season 2023/2024 – PFB building in Ołowianka

The culmination of the season is one of the most important moments of the season. We symbolically say goodbye to the artistic season, which we will end on a strong note. We will listen to wonderful masterpieces - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 271 in E flat major, KV XNUMX and Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. XNUMX in C sharp minor. The only Pole who won the first prize in the prestigious and very difficult Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Tel Aviv will sit behind the piano - Simon Nehring. Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra this special concert will be led by its artistic director George Tchitchinadze.

28/06, 20:00 - 67th International Organ Music Festival in Oliwa - Inauguration - Oliwa Cathedral

The tradition of the MFMO in the Oliwa Archcathedral is the ceremonial inauguration with the participation of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra. It is this time of the year when director Roman Perucki, an organist appreciated in Poland and abroad, plays with his artistic group. This concert is also the opening of the Gdańsk Summer of Music, full of symphony, chamber and organ concerts and piano recitals that will await us during the holidays. June 28 PFB Orchestra will lead Jacek Rogala, and together with prof. Roman Perucki the soloist will be a great flutist Łukasz Długosz. A unique event will be the world premiere of a work by Zbigniew Kruczek commissioned by the Philharmonic - Double Concerto for flute, organ and orchestra. Additionally, we will hear the Concerto in G minor for organ and orchestra, Op. 35 by Mieczysław Surzyński and Concerto for chamber orchestra by Stefan Kisielewski.
