Nordic Pulse – Celebration of Freedom
Concert of the Baltic Sea Philharmonic on the occasion of 100 years of the Polish state foundation.

Project Nordic Pulse was started to celebrate ten years of Baltic Sea Philharmonic Orchestra founded by Kristjan Järvi. Ten years of the Orchestra coincided with a hundred years of indepnedence of Baltic Countries – Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland. That’s why the project was started this year July 7th on Bad Kissingen Festival with slogan to celebrate freedom.
The Concert in Gdańsk will be fulled with compositions of Polish, Lithuanian, Estonian and Finnish composers in geographic order. We will start with famous Orava of Kilar – a piece inspired by highland folklore. Then pieces of living composers: orchestral composition of young Lithuanian composer closely related to Baltic Sea Philharmonic – Gediminas Gelgotas. Aurora inspired by White Nights of Estonian Kristjan Järvi. He is not only conductor and foundator of Baltic Sea Philharmonic, but also composer. Last but not least national Finnish composer – Jean Sibelius and his Suite for The Tempest by Shakespeare in the orginal arrangement by Kristjan Järvi.
