He graduated from the Gdańsk Academy of Music. Stanisław Moniuszko in the organ class of prof. Leon Bator in 1985 He participated in organ master classes in Poland and abroad. He has been a professor at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk since 1997 (in 1996-1999 he was vice-rector for artistic affairs) and at the Music School Complex in Gdańsk; he is the XNUMXst organist of the Oliwa Cathedral, a member of the Liturgical Commission of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Gdańsk; is appointed as a consultant to evaluate projects of new instruments, renovations and restorations of historical organs of the Archdiocese of Gdańsk and throughout Poland.
He gives concerts in Poland and abroad (all over Europe, USA, Japan, Australia, South America). He is a juror, among others. International Organ Competition in Kaltern (Italy), Opava (Czech Republic), Paris, St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad (Russia). He is the director and juror of the International Organ Music Competition. JP Sweelincka in Gdańsk. He conducts master classes in Germany, Russia, France, Mexico and lectures at universities and music schools in Poland.
He has already given over 2000 recitals. In 2005 he played, among others, in the famous Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, in the Cathedral in Ghent, on the new organ of the Lausanne Cathedral, in the Cathedral of the Nation in Brussels or the famous organ in the Cathedral in Riga. He had the pleasure of performing at many distinguished international festivals. He also performed as a chamber musician and soloist, among others. with the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra, with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, with Agnieszka Duczmal's Orchestra, with the Nationale Porto Orchestra and with outstanding soloists.
He has made numerous recordings for: Polish Radio and Television, NDR, British and Slovak television and others. He recorded 28 albums, Messe pour les paroisses Fr. Bohdan Pociej recognized Couperina in "Ruch Muzyczny" as the best recording in Poland in 1991, while Oliwska's second album was nominated for the Fryderyk Award. He has a platinum album (released in 1998).
He is the Director of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk (in the years 1993-1997 also the artistic director) and the president of the Pomeranian Association "Musica Sacra", with which he organizes, among others: the International Festival of Organ Music in the Oliwa Cathedral, the International Organ Competition. JP Sweelincka in Gdańsk, a series of concerts "Closer to Bach", concerts on the occasion of the St. Dominic in the church. Dominican in Gdańsk and concerts in churches in Rumia, Wdzydze and Morąg. Since 1999, he has been the president of the Association of Lovers of the Oliwa Archcathedral and the director of the "Maria Cantat" Choir Competition, a member of the jury of the Religious Song Competition in Jastarnia, and the organizer of the Sacred Music Festival in Gdynia.
He has numerous decorations and awards, including the highest papal distinction Pro eclessiae et Pontifice, a gold badge: Merit for Polish Culture (2005), the award of the City of Gdańsk in the field of Culture, in 2007 he received the Medal "Merit for Polish Culture Gloria Artis", the Pomeranian Award Artistic Award - Gryf Pomorski for 2006, award of the Gdańsk Society of Friends of Art. In March 2008, he received the Order of St. from Pope Benedict XVI. New Year's Eve.
