Lessons with the Masters – Wojciech Kilar

Outstanding works of film music

Daniel Ziomko – piano
Agnieszka Waśniewska – oboe, script and conducting of the concert

We all love movies. However, not everyone remembers how important a role music plays in this art. Compositions help us experience the emotions of the characters and even transport our imagination to all possible places - beautiful, real and unreal, as well as seemingly dangerous ones. This time you will get to know Wojciech Kilar. You will also learn about the relationship between sound and image in film compositions. We will present you motifs from such paintings as: The Leper, The Promised Land, Pan Tadeusz or Dracula. We are also planning an experiment - we will compare the compositional styles of Wojciech Kilar and Ennio Morricone and Howard Shore, the author of the music for Hobbit.

Age: 10-14 years old
Duration: approx. 50 min.
