Architectural accessibility

I. Access to the seat of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk, ul. Ołowianka 1:

Access from the Gdańsk Główny Railway Station: The main railway station is located
approximately 3 km from the Polish Baltic Philharmonic.

Access by taxi: is approximately 10 minutes.

Access by tram: from the main exit of the station, go towards the tunnel
to the tram stop - tram line no. 8 or 9, departures towards Stogi or Stogi Beach:

  • you need to travel 4 stops and get off at the stop called "Chmielna";
    travel time is approx. 10 minutes (tram timetables of individual lines indicate routes operated by low-floor vehicles);
  • then walk approx. 1100 m (13 min):
  • Podwale Przedmiejskie go back towards ul. Chmielna and walk about 80 m,
  • turn right into ul. Chmielna,
  • Chmielna walk about 230 m,
  • turn right into ul. Stagiewna
  • Stągiewna walk 220 m,
  • turn left into Szafarnia Street,
  • Szafarnia street, walk 300 m,
  • turn slightly left into ul. Galena,
  • Ołowianka walk about 250 m.

Access by bus: from the main exit of the station, go towards the tunnel
and go through the underground tunnel to the bus stop: bus line
No. 130, departures towards the Museum of the Second World War:

  • you need to travel 3 stops and get off at the stop called "Museum of the Second World War"; travel time is approx. 5 minutes (the bus timetables of individual lines indicate routes operated by low-floor vehicles);
  • then walk approx. 800 m (10 min):
  • Stara Stocznia towards Ołowianka walk about 350 m,
  • turn slightly right onto ul. Wartka,
  • Watka walk about 150 m,
  • turn left onto the footbridge to Ołowianka,
  • cross the footbridge for approx. 80 m,
  • turn right towards Ołowianka and walk about 150 m.

II. Accessibility to enter the building and pass through control areas.

For guests coming to the Polish Baltic Philharmonic, including people
people with motor problems, disabled people, people in wheelchairs, as well as parents with strollers, there are two entrances available:
main entrance "A" (from Ołowianka Street, i.e. from the south-east side of the building)
and input "B" (from the side of the large parking lot and the footbridge, i.e. from the north-east side of the building).

  1. Input "A" is equipped with a door that can be opened independently or with the help of a designated person from the facility's staff. A person with special needs from the above. The entrance can be accessed via a ramp to the concert hall or to a toilet for disabled people. There are two places for people with disabilities in the concert hall on the ground floor. There is also a passenger elevator at the main entrance, but it is not adapted for wheelchair users. The elevator takes you to the first floor, where guests have access to the buffet or foyer where they can view exhibitions, vernissages or participate in meetings accompanying cultural events.
  2. Input "B" is equipped with a door that can be opened with the help of a designated person
    from the facility's operation, willingness to use the above-mentioned entries should be reported to the sales manager or the person handling the cultural event. A person with special needs can enter the concert hall or a designated toilet from the entrance
    for disabled people. There are also changing rooms adapted for people
    with special needs. There are two places for people with disabilities in the concert hall on the ground floor. At the entrance "B" there is also a passenger elevator, which is adapted for people on the move
    in wheelchairs. The elevator takes you to the first floor, where guests have access to the buffet or foyer where they can view exhibitions, vernissages or participate in meetings accompanying cultural events.

Service entrance:

  1. Input "D" (on the side of the fountain, i.e. on the southwest side of the building) there is a service entrance "D", equipped with a door that opens independently
    and enable collision-free entry to the PFB building, in addition, the entrance is adapted for people with mobility disabilities and has a wheelchair lift. Guests arriving on business are served on the ground floor of the building at entrance "D" in the meeting room. Help in overcoming larger barriers is always consulted with a professional employee of a given department. The toilet for business guests is located on the ground floor of the main building at entrance "D", but it is not adapted for disabled people. However, it is possible to open a toilet in a separate part of the building intended for public service at entrances "A" or "B".

III. Accessibility of corridors, stairs and elevators

A person with special needs can move freely on the ground floor of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic building, from the main entrance "A" or entrance "B" they can get to the concert hall (where on the ground floor there are two places for people with disabilities) or to the toilets intended for disabled people. There is a passenger elevator at the main entrance
(excluding wheelchair users), the second passenger elevator, which is adapted for wheelchair users, is located at entrance "B". The elevators take you to the first floor, where guests have access to the buffet or foyer where they can view exhibitions, vernissages or participate in meetings accompanying cultural events.

IV. Description of adjustments, for example ramps or platforms

The main building has a platform for disabled people at the reception and a ramp for wheelchairs from the main entrance for the public. Access to the customer service room is ensured by the support of a reception employee and, in part for the public, by an employee designated for these activities after obtaining information about this fact.

V. Information about the place and method of using parking spaces designated for disabled people. 

There are designated parking spaces for disabled people in the parking lot next to our institution's building.

VI. Information about the right to enter with an assistance dog and any justified restrictions. 

It is not possible to enter the building and all its rooms with assistance dogs and guide dogs.

VII. Information about the possibility of using a sign language interpreter on site or online. 

There is no Polish sign language interpreter available in the building.
